A young man identified only as Humble, believed to be in his early 30s, has died following a tragic workplace accident at a Chinese-owned firm at Fotobi near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred while Humble was operating a heavy-duty industrial machine. According to accounts, the machine was suddenly switched on by a colleague who was unaware that Humble was working inside it.
Reports indicate that the colleague later disclosed he acted on the instruction of a Chinese supervisor, resulting in fatal injuries to the deceased.
The police have since intervened and reportedly arrested two Chinese employers to assist with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a morgue, while investigations continue to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and determine any possible criminal liability.
