As part of its core purpose of making an impact that matters, Deloitte Consulting Services Ghana has donated food items, used clothes, toiletries and undisclosed amount of money to the Nyamedua Orphanage at Nanakrom, Accra in the Greater Accra region.

The move is part of the firm’s commitment of driving positive change for people, clients and the society in which it operates.

The team was led by Kofi Awuah, Partner, Strategy and Risk and Serwa Atiase Dzogbenuku, Partner, Technology and Transformation.

Addressing the founder, staff and children of the orphanage, Mr. Awuah said Deloitte will continue to create lasting and measurable results.

“We do this from time to time and we also impact our people that is the staff and of course the community in which we operate, including the clients that we work for and of course the community. This year we decided from the Consulting Services on behalf of the entire firm [Deloitte] to come and show love to the orphanage of Nyamedua; and we are happy to be here”.

“We are here to put smiles on the faces of the kids. We are wishing them the best for the future, but more importantly encouraging them to take their books very seriously at school.”

Serwa Atiase Dzogbenuku, for her part said Deloitte is committed to positively impacting the society and also train leaders for the future.

She stated that “We offer internship opportunities to students. Once you learn hard you enter third cycle institutions…whether polytechnics or the universities during vacation you can walk into Deloitte and say you want to do your internship with Deloitte”.

“Deloitte is waiting for you.  When you come for internship, we will let you understand the world of professional services - to open your mind to things - then help you to decide your career path”, she added.

Founder of Nyamedua Orphanage, Paul Anaba welcomed the kind gesture from Deloitte, saying, the children are excited to receive the items and cash, adding, they will go a long way to support their upkeep.

He was proud to say that three of the children are in the universities undertaking various programmes which is an inspiration to the junior ones.
