The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Chris Adomako-Kwakye, has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.
The promotion is hailed as a mark of a positive milestone for both his academic career and the greater good of the KNUST Law Faculty.
Late last year, Prof. Chris Adomako-Kwakye was celebrated by the Law Platform as the “Star of the Month” for December, an initiative that recognizes outstanding legal minds on a monthly basis.
Prof. Adomako-Kwakye is a highly respected legal academic and a towering figure within the KNUST Law School, with nearly three decades of legal practice and academic experience.

He is also the Managing Partner of Adom Law Consulting and has built a distinguished career spanning two decades in both legal practice and academia, with focused expertise in Commercial Law and Natural Resources Law.
According to the Law Platform, Professor Adomako-Kwakye’s academic accomplishments include co-supervising, alongside Justice Dr. Owusu-Dapaa, JA, the doctoral thesis of one of the pioneer PhD graduates of the KNUST Faculty of Law.
His scholarly work has largely focused on Ghana’s oil and gas sector, commercial law, medico-legal law, contract negotiations in natural resource exploitation, and the management of revenue from natural resources.
Prof. Adomako-Kwakye’s excellence has earned him several prestigious awards and scholarships, including a Fulbright Scholarship to Boston University, Massachusetts, USA, in 2011.
Earlier in his career, he received the Ghana Bar Association Meritorious Award in 1993 for outstanding academic performance.
Beyond teaching and research, he has held several key administrative positions, including multiple terms as Head of the Commercial Law Department and Examinations Officer at the Faculty of Law, KNUST.
He has also served as Chairman of the Appeals Board of the Kumasi Technical University
