Samuel Yaw Antwi, popularly known as Yaw Darlington, says he is not ready for marriage, explaining that his full commitment is currently to his music career.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Time with George Quaye, the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Unsung Artiste of the the Year said he believes he is still too young to take on marital responsibilities.
“I’m too young to marry. I’m 26 years old,” he said. “I’m at a stage where I feel like I have to put more effort and more energy into my creative works.”
Yaw Darlington explained that his demanding schedule and focus on music would make it unfair to be in a serious relationship at this point in his life.
“I don’t want to stress anyone’s daughter,” he noted. “You might call me or need my attention, but right now my focus is my music.”
Describing his relationship with his craft, the singer added, “Music is my girlfriend. So if you come, you will be a third person. You’ll call me and I’ll tell you I’m in the studio.”
