Accra’s skyline has gained a striking new addition with the official unveiling of PUNA, Airport West, by VAAL Real Estate. Launched at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, the 22-storey residential tower marks the developer’s seventh landmark project and signals a pivotal moment in the evolution of vertical living in the capital.
Rising above the prestigious Airport West enclave, PUNA is positioned as a premium residential offering for globally minded professionals, discerning investors and modern urban dwellers seeking quality, prime location and long-term value. With launch prices starting at $85,000 for a limited release, the development provides what the company describes as an accessible entry point into Accra’s high-end property market. An early reservation structure allows buyers to secure units with a modest deposit while locking in pre-launch pricing.
Welcoming guests, VAAL’s Chief Executive Officer, AlaaZayed, articulated the company’s guiding philosophy. “VAAL was built on a simple principle. Every project must move the city forward,” he said. “We do not just develop buildings. We develop new expectations.” Describing PUNA as the company’s new benchmark, he framed the launch as both celebration and commitment: a pledge to raise standards, exceed client expectations and contribute meaningfully to Accra’s growth.
PUNA offers studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, each designed to maximise space, natural light and functionality. Contemporary layouts prioritise efficiency, elegance and comfort, supported by curated finishes chosen for durability and style. During the launch presentation, the Sales Manager outlined the range of unit types, floor plans and intelligent storage solutions, alongside structured payment plans tailored to optimise investor cash flow.
Beyond design, the financial logic of the development was emphasised. Projections highlighted strong rental demand from expatriates and corporate executives, significant short-let potential and consistent capital appreciation in Airport West — one of Accra’s most secure and consistently appreciating residential corridors. Its proximity to Kotoka International Airport, diplomatic missions, major business districts and lifestyle destinations reinforces its appeal as both a residence and a strategic asset.
Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotuiunderscored the broader national significance of projects such as PUNA. Calling it “a remarkable addition to the evolving skyline and residential landscape of Accra,” she described the development as more than a structure. “We are unveiling a vision of elevated urban living,” she said, noting that the name PUNA evokes height not only in physical form but in perspective, quality and distinction.
She highlighted the role of credible private-sector developers in addressing Ghana’s housing needs, stressing that modern, vertical and thoughtfully designed housing is essential for the country’s rapidly urbanising population. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships, expanding access to housing finance and promoting sustainable, climate-resilient construction.
The project also speaks to shifting market dynamics. As Accra urbanises, demand is intensifying for professionally managed vertical communities in prime locations. Airport West continues to combine prestige, accessibility and security — factors that attract diaspora buyers, upwardly mobile professionals and institutional investors seeking exposure to a high-performing micro-market.
Sales Manager Nazir Halabi-Ahma detailed PUNA’s community-oriented amenities and smart building management systems, including leisure spaces, robust security features and design elements tailored to contemporary lifestyles and rental tenants alike. These features, he noted, reinforce both liveabilityand long-term investment value.
Symbolically, the launch reflects confidence in Ghana’s economic trajectory. Practically, it introduces high-quality residential units at a price point positioned as competitive within a premium neighbourhood. Officially declaring the project launched, the Deputy Minister expressed hope that PUNA would become “a landmark not only in height, but in impact, setting new standards for residential development in Ghana.”
With its commanding presence over Airport West and its promise of elevated living, PUNA stands poised to redefine expectations of urban residential development in Accra.
