On Friday, 13th February 2026, the Career Services Centre, KNUST, in partnership with the Department of Geomatic Engineering, brought together students and industry leaders at the Kumapley Auditorium for a high-impact Industry Information Session, focused on preparing students for the professional world.Mrs. Selina Angmor Doe, Director of the Career Services Centre, opened the session by highlighting the Centre’s initiative to bridge the gap between academia and industry. She noted that the Centre has previously collaborated with global firms such as Puma Energy and representatives from the German Ambassador’s Office. This year, the spotlight was on Leica Geosystems, reinforcing the importance of industry partnerships in geospatial engineering. She encouraged students to see the session as “an opportunity to understand the future you’re building toward.”Prof. Ato Andam Akorful, Head of Department, emphasized the value of early preparation, sharing how connections from similar career events shaped his own journey at KNUST. He reminded students that career readiness begins on day one of university life.Representing Leica Geosystems, Mr. Nii Aryee Lartey, Sales Specialist in Surveying & Engineering, highlighted the company’s 200-year legacy and AI-driven innovations, including advanced GNSS systems and the BLK ARC mobile mapping solution.
