WebSys (GH) Limited has launched a specialized Renewable Energy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform to support the growing operational needs of Ghana’s clean energy sector, as the country accelerates its transition toward renewable energy.
The new sector-specific ERP system is designed to serve renewable energy firms, EPC contractors, solar integrators, mini-grid operators and clean energy SMEs, providing a unified digital platform to manage operations across the value chain.
The launch comes at a time when Ghana’s renewable energy industry is evolving from donor-backed pilot initiatives into commercially driven, scalable enterprises, with increasing private sector participation in solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, mini-grids, industrial rooftop systems, energy storage and hybrid power solutions.
While national attention has largely focused on installed capacity, grid integration and financing models, industry experts note that sustainable growth in the sector also depends on strong operational systems, including project management, asset tracking, financial control, procurement processes and regulatory compliance.
Many renewable energy companies in Ghana continue to rely on fragmented management systems such as spreadsheets, standalone accounting software and manual project trackers. Observers say these systems often limit visibility into project profitability, delay procurement, complicate asset monitoring and create compliance challenges.
WebSys’ newly launched Renewable Energy ERP seeks to address these gaps by centralising operations into a single digital platform.
The system integrates project and contract management, financial reporting and cost tracking, procurement and inventory control, asset lifecycle and maintenance monitoring, as well as field service coordination. By consolidating these functions, companies are able to gain real-time insights into performance, improve transparency and strengthen operational discipline.
Speaking at the launch, Robert Nii Hammond, Technical Director of WebSys (GH) Limited, emphasised that digital transformation is becoming essential to the long-term success of Ghana’s renewable energy ambitions.
He noted that as investor scrutiny and regulatory expectations increase, renewable energy firms must adopt structured digital systems to strengthen governance, reporting accuracy and scalability.
Analysts also point to growing interest in Ghana’s renewable energy sector from private investors, development finance institutions and commercial lenders. In this environment, digitised systems are increasingly important for audit readiness, ESG reporting, risk management and data-driven investment decisions.
As Ghana works toward expanding renewable energy capacity and decentralising power solutions, operational intelligence is emerging as a key pillar of competitiveness. Efficient digital management systems, stakeholders say, may prove just as critical as solar panels, batteries and inverters in sustaining long-term growth.
The introduction of sector-specific ERP solutions is therefore seen as an important step in building the digital infrastructure required to support Ghana’s clean energy future. With renewable energy set to play a larger role in national power generation and energy security, technology platforms tailored to the unique demands of the sector could help position Ghana as a more resilient and investment-ready clean energy market.
