The CEO of Akwaaba UK, Dennis Tawiah, has opened up about what he describes as one of his biggest regrets in his long career as a promoter and event manager.
Speaking in a recent interview on Konnected Minds, Tawiah revealed that he wishes he had booked a much larger venue for highlife star Bisa Kdei during one of the artist’s headline shows in the UK.
According to Mr Tawiah, who has worked with top acts including Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Daddy Lumba, the demand to see the “Mansa,” “Asew,” “Brother Brother,” and “Mon Bébé” hitmaker was unlike anything he had experienced.
He admitted that in all his years as an international promoter, no event sold tickets as quickly as Bisa Kdei’s. Based on the overwhelming turnout and the pace of sales, Tawiah believes Bisa Kdei could easily have filled the venue for two consecutive nights.
However, the show was booked for only one night, a decision he now regrets.
Bisa Kdei, widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading Highlife artistes, continues to extend his influence beyond Ghana.
His music has resonated across global markets for over a decade, earning him a loyal international fan base.
The award‑winning singer is currently promoting his French single “Mon Bébé,” which has been warmly received among Francophone audiences and continues to gain traction across streaming platforms.
