Belle Yemofio has gained international recognition by winning a prestigious design award in Italy and receiving a significant continental nomination, highlighting Ghana’s emerging prominence in global interior architecture.
Yemofio, Founder and Creative Director of EllenDavis Interior Design, has won the Professional Award – Residential Space (Innovation Award Category) at the Italy International Design Award held in Milan, widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential design capitals.
At the same time, she has also been nominated for African Interior Designer of the Year at the Africa Golden Awards, placing her among a rising generation of African creatives gaining global recognition for their innovative work.
Yemofio received the international honour for her standout residential project, “The Curve Residence Project,” a design celebrated for its bold architectural expression, fluid spatial planning, and contemporary elegance.
The project stood out to judges for its innovative approach to residential interiors featuring sweeping architectural curves, seamless transitions between living spaces, and a design philosophy that merges visual sophistication with practical functionality.

The Milan-based award recognises exceptional design talent from across the globe, and Yemofio’s win highlights the increasing presence of African designers in conversations shaping the future of interior architecture.
Speaking about the recognition, Yemofio described the moment as both personal and symbolic for African creativity on the world stage.
“This recognition is deeply meaningful for me and for my team at EllenDavis Interior Design. It represents how African creativity and design thinking are increasingly shaping global conversations about space, beauty, and functionality,” she said.
Her nomination at the Africa Golden Awards further reinforces her growing impact across the continent’s creative industry.
