The Asante Akyem South Municipal Assembly has donated 300 pairs of shoes to deprived schoolchildren in five basic schools across the municipality in a bid to improve their welfare and support education.

The exercise was carried out under the auspices of the Municipal Chief Executive, Maame Sarfowaa Appiah, who reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable pupils and creating a conducive learning environment.

The donation was made in collaboration with STUNNER SHOES and DIVINE BRAINZ, whose partnership ensured the successful implementation of the initiative.

Addressing beneficiaries during the presentation, Hon. Maame Sarfowaa Appiah underscored the importance of investing in children’s well-being, noting that access to basic necessities such as proper footwear can significantly influence school attendance, comfort, and confidence.

Many of the beneficiary pupils, who often walk long distances to school in worn-out footwear, expressed joy as they received the new shoes. Teachers and parents also welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Assembly and its partners to support deprived communities and promote inclusive education in Asante Akyem South.

The collaboration between the Assembly, STUNNER SHOES, and DIVINE BRAINZ is to strengthen of public-private partnerships in addressing social challenges and improving the lives of children in the municipality.
