Evowheels Ghana Motors and Yango Ride, part of the global technology company Yango Group, marked a significant milestone in Ghana's green mobility journey with the handover of 15 DONGFENG NAMMI 01 electric vehicles to Yango partner drivers in Accra.

The ceremony, themed "Driving the Future Together in Ghana," adds to Yango's electric vehicle fleet operations in the Ghanaian market and signals a new chapter for sustainable urban transport in the country.

At the heart of the partnership is an innovative Drive-To-Own (DTO) model that sets it apart from conventional fleet programmes. Over a three-year period, Yango partner drivers operate their assigned DONGFENG NAMMI 01 electric vehicles and, at the end of the programme, own them outright, with no residual payment required.

The model is designed to turn everyday driving into long-term asset ownership, directly improving financial security for drivers and their families.

To support the transition to electric vehicles, Evowheels has introduced many exclusive benefits for the first batch of fleet drivers, including first-year comprehensive insurance, discounted fast charging at XChargeEV partner stations, a complimentary home charging solution, free chassis protection installation, monthly performance bonuses, VIP after-sales service at designated centres, official fleet uniforms, and in-car advertising revenue sharing from year two.

The deployment marks another milestone as Yango strives to support sustainability in Ghana’s ride-hailing industry with clean, eco-friendly vehicles. For Evowheels, the partnership represents the successful introduction of high-quality Chinese new energy vehicles into the Ghanaian market, a first step toward a planned fleet of 100 electric vehicles within the next year.

"This partnership is a strong step forward for green mobility in Ghana and for the drivers who power our platform," the Head of Operations, Yango Rides in Africa, Timi Ayoade, said.

"The Drive-To-Own model reflects our commitment to creating real economic opportunity for drivers, not just a job, but a path to owning an asset that can change their lives and support their families."

"'Driving the Future Together' is not just our slogan, it is our commitment to drivers, to the community, and to Ghana's green future," said William Huang, Country Manager of Evowheels Ghana Motors.

"Through the DTO model and our comprehensive support policies, we aim to enable more drivers to embrace new energy vehicles, increase their income, and ultimately own their vehicles. We are confident in expanding our pure electric fleet to 100 units within the next year.”

The Yango-Evowheels partnership demonstrates how a global technology platform, a local fleet operator, and structured vehicle financing can combine to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in a developing market. With professional EV after-sales support, a comprehensive driver benefits package, and a clear path to ownership, the programme is designed for long-term stability for drivers, for the platform, and for Ghana's broader transition to cleaner urban transport.

Yango continues to engage with fleet operators and entrepreneurs interested in building the next generation of electric mobility in Ghana.
