Black Satellites captain, Joseph Owusu Bempah says the ecstasy and pride associated with beating Nigeria at any level will spur his colleagues on when the two sides meet in the CAF Under 20 Championship on this evening.
The two giants meet in a mouthwatering semi final clash to determine who plays in t Sunday's finals and the Satellites captain is confident his team will upset the Flying Eagles.
"Matches against Nigeria are very tough and special," Bempah told www.ghanafa.org.
"it's a kind of match that can make a player and also endear you to fans back home in Ghana. It is also a history making match means so it means so much for us and we are determined to go all out and make history for us and our country Ghana."
The Satellites captain admitted the Flying Eagles are a very good side who appears to be many people's form team following their unbeaten run in the group stage. But Bempah likened a Ghana versus Nigeria encounter to a Hearts and Kotoko matches, which he claimed knows no form guide.
"They are a very good side but Ghana and Nigerian games are completely different. It's like Hearts and Kotoko games - it knows no form guide. On paper the Nigerians appear to be the form team for many going into this game because they haven't lost a game so far in the tournament.
"But for us, that will not count. We know the Nigerians are a very good side but we are well aware of our objectives which is winning the ultimate. We can't get to the ultimate without going past Nigeria so we will put in all our efforts to achieve our targets.
"We are ready for the Nigerians. Our mentality is high and our physical conditioning is also high."
