Ghana U23 coach Malik Jabir has praised his team for qualifying for the 2015 All Africa Games.
The Black Meteors overturned a 1-0 defeat suffered in the first leg in Maputo two weeks ago to beat their counterparts Mozambique 2-0 at the Tamale stadium on Sunday.
Jabir’s side had to wait until the 69th minute to get the opening goal following an own goal by the visitors.
Midfielder Bright Agyei however got the match-needed goal for the team in the 82nd minute after a superb pass from Holland –based winger Raymond Gyasi.
The results sees Ghana qualify for yet another tournament after winning gold at the last edition of the Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
“Our opponents played very well but i have to give credit to my players for their wonderful display which ensured we won the game to qualify,” said Jabir
“Great display from them and i believe they didn’t want to disappoint Ghanaians that is why they went all out to win the game.
“If you look at how the game went, i could see it was an improvement on the first game in Maputo.
“Now we have qualified but that is not the end of the work, we will continue to build a strong team because the task ahead is big.”
