The UK firm building a new hospital complex for the Police Hospital in Accra is demanding financial commitment from government before it resumes work on the project.
The International Hospitals Group abandoned the project in December last year, claiming that government had failed to fulfill its financial obligations.
The project originally valued at ÂŁ23.7 million will now cost about ÂŁ46 million pounds.
Administrator of the Police Hospital DSP Owusu Bempeh tells Joy News the contractor is ready to finish up the job once they get assurance from government.
In the meantime, work has started on a project to convert the former office complex of the Forestry Commission into wards and offices for the Police Hospital.
Medical director of the hospital, Dr. Godfred Asiamah said the project will be concluded in about a month.
