Police in the Upper East Region have arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of the late NPP Upper East Regional chairman, Adams Mahama.
The arrest is in connection with the tragic death of the politician after Gregory Afoko the younger brother of the opposition NPP national chairman was arrested.

Upper East Police PRO Thomas Agbanyo however refused to name the suspect but said he “aided” another suspect, Asabke Alangbi to escape. Alangbi has since been on the run.
Asabke Alangbi is facing prosecution in abstention for the murder of Adams Mahama. He is said to have fled the Upper East with his wife and left behind a baby.
The Upper East Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party died of extensive acid burns and shock lungs (acute respiratory distress syndrome), an autopsy report has indicated.
Adams Mahama died on Thursday 21 May 2015, a day after he was bathed with acid.
