A Joy News reporter has been assaulted and robbed in broad day light by rampaging residents of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Latif Iddrisu suffered multiple punches from the angry demonstrators who did not understand why he was taking pictures of their demonstration.
Five of them pounced on him and subjected him to severe beating and when his mobile phone fell, one of the attackers grabbed it and took to his heels.
The demonstrators were protesting a demolition exercise by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Saturday which have left them homeless.
The AMA accused the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah of littering the choked Odaw river which has been cited as reason for many of Accra's floods.
On Monday, the victims of the demolition came to the streets blocking major roads and vandalising public and private properties.
They marched to the State House in Accra, which was several meters away from their demolished homes demanding to see the president.
The president was not available to see them. It was the police who were and there were some skirmishes, Joy News' kwakye Afreh- Nuamah reported.
Some of the protestors were arrested but were later released following threats from some of the protestors to cause mayhem.
After hours of stand-off they protestors were led back to the demolished ground at Sodom Gomorrah with the Police asking them to follow the due process of law if they want to go on a demonstration.
