Eric Bekoe has urged players of traditional giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to up their game as both teams struggle in this year’s First Capital Plus Premier League.
According to the former goal king, the abject form of the two clubs has had a considerable effect on the competiveness of the league as little challenge is being offered by the other clubs.
“The league is not competitive because of the way [it] is being played. I am surprised at the challenge offered by the other teams. The way the big guns are falling, it tells you that the league is not competitive,” Bekoe said.
The former Kotoko forward went on to admonish current players of both teams to make the most of the chances they have been given since they had the best platform in the country to showcase their talents.
“Everybody is dreaming of playing for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, Ashgold and the likes. Anybody playing in the league used to look at these clubs. So if you have the chance to play for these clubs and cannot make the headlines, then I doubt your quality.”
“Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are platforms that you can use to fight for yourself and the clubs. We all use the same platform to leave the country and make Ghana proud”.
Bekoe was reported to have agreed terms with Great Olympics for the second round of the league but is yet to feature for the Wonder Club for reasons yet to be known.
