Andy Murray will not face Novak Djokovic until the Wimbledon final after being kept apart in Friday’s draw, although he could have a tricky run to reach that point.
The Scotsman is seeded three and opens up against Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin. If he makes it through he will face one of Robin Haase or Alejandro Falla in the second round. If all the top eight seeds make it into the quarter-finals then 2013 champion Murray will face Spain’s David Ferrer.
However, if 10th seed Rafael Nadal finds some form then the two-times Wimbledon champion could instead be Murray’s opponent at that stage. In the semi-finals, Murray could then face seven-times winner Roger Federer in a repeat of the 2012 final which he lost to the Swiss if he progresses through his section of the draw without any complications.
Djokovic - who won the Australian Open at the start of the year, but lost the French Open final to Stanislas Wawrinka - opens up with a tricky contest against Philipp Kohlschreiber, the German world No. 33. The Serb - a winner over Roger Federer in last year's final to win the title for a second time - could then face former champion Lleyton Hewitt in the second round.
Kohlschreiber had match points against Federer at Halle last week and at number 33 in the world, he only just missed being seeded for the grasscourt grand slam. Federer will play Bosnia's Damir Dzumhur. Nadal, seeded 10th and also in the bottom half of the draw, will play Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci.
