A Research Fellow at the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration at the University of Cape Coast Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, wants the National Accreditation Board to make students services a priority in the award of accreditation to institutions wishing to run degree or non-degree programs in their institutions.
Research indicates most students who graduate from both public and private institutions are unwilling to lend their expertise to their schools because of the perceived victimization they received from the hands of school authorities.
But Dr. Boakye-Yiadom told Joy News the situation will change if students are more involved in the decision making process as it pertains in most schools in the west.
"The best schools in the world have innovative students services on their campuses. They have student centred campuses; they have positive campus environment positive that enhances learning and teaching," he said.
Dr. Michael Boakye-Yaidom said student services should become an important part of the accreditation process.
He said when student services becomes a part of the accreditation process the leadership of the universities will prioritize student services, that way they would have lots of memories from school.
