With the most historic tournament on the tennis calendar upon us, we thought we'd get a few fast facts out there about this year's tournament.

10) Kerber has done something this year only Serena has matched

By winning Charleston, Stuttgart and Birmingham, World No.10 Angelique Kerber is one of only two players to win three titles at the Premier level or higher this year. Serena Williams is the other.

9) Suárez Navarro is tied with one other player for most match wins this year

There's a battle heating up between World No.9 Carla Suárez Navarro and WTA Rising Star Karolina Pliskova for most WTA-level match wins this year - they're currently tied for the top spot at 35.

8) Makarova is among an historic left-handed foursome in the Top 10 right now

Along with Petra Kvitova, Lucie Safarova and Angelique Kerber, World No.8 Ekaterina Makarova is part of the first left-handed foursome in the Top 10 together since WTA Rankings began back in 1975.

7) Ivanovic is trying to make No.7 a little less unlucky here

If World No.7 Ana Ivanovic were to win Wimbledon this year, she would be just the second No.7 seed in the Open Era to do it - the first was Venus Williams in 2008. Williams beat Ivanovic en route.

6) Safarova is trying to pull off rare back-to-back French Open-Wimbledon finals

The last player to reach the French Open and Wimbledon finals in the same year was Justine Henin in 2006 (French Open champion, Wimbledon finalist). Can World No.6 Safarova make the transition?

5) This is the only major missing in Wozniacki's quarterfinal collection

World No.5 Caroline Wozniacki has reached the quarters at all of the majors except Wimbledon - she's been to the fourth round four times, though. The irony? This was the major she won as a junior.

4) If Sharapova wins, it'll be the second-biggest gap between Wimbledon titles in the Open Era

It's been 11 years since World No.4 Maria Sharapova won her first Wimbledon title. Only Martina Navratilova has won this tournament in a bigger span - her first came in 1978, her last came in 1990.

3) This is Halep's second-best Grand Slam

World No.3 Simona Halep is best known for her play on clay, reaching her first Grand Slam final at the French Open last year. But her only other Grand Slam semifinal came right here a few weeks later.

2) Kvitova is still the only player born in the 1990s, male or female, to win a major

Petra Kvitova, the lovely lady pictured above, became the first player born in the 1990s, male or female, to win a Grand Slam title by winning in 2011. She did it again last year. No other '90s baby has won one.

1) Serena has almost as many majors as every other active player combined

Serena Williams has 20 Grand Slam titles - every other active player combined has 21 Grand Slam titles (Venus Williams has seven, Maria Sharapova has five, Victoria Azarenka, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Petra Kvitova two each, and Ana Ivanovic, Francesca Schiavone and Sam Stosur one each).

If the World No.1 wins Wimbledon, she has as many majors as all other active players combined. That's wild.
