Former Ghana captain John Mensah insists he’s fit enough to play at the top level, setting an ambitious target of staging a return to the Black Stars.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Slovakian side Nitra last year.
The former Sunderland and Rennes centre-back has revealed his desire to return after a long absence and talks up his chances of challenging the younger defenders for places.
“I'm very fit and will return to club football soon and probably the Black Stars as well. I have not retired yet. Time will tell when I might finally retire. I am in talks with some clubs and we hope the best comes out of it.”
But he rubbishes claims about soon joining Ghanaian league leaders AshGold.
“It is only a rumour. I have not contacted any of the management members that I want to play for AshGold.”
John Mensah was an integral member of the Black Stars till 2012 where injury cut short prevented him from receiving any further call-ups.
