Multimedia's Seth Kwame Boateng has been adjudged the 2014 GJA/Prof. PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year .
“God has been indeed good. I am grateful to God. It is a miracle…..I didn’t dream a day like this wIll come” Seth Kwame Boateng said.
At the annual awards ceremony held at the Banquet Hall in Accra Saturday, Seth Kwame Boateng did not only pick the PAV Ansah Journalist of the Year Award, he also bagged three others on the night.
A plaque in his honour praised him for “thorough research” and enviable “consistency” on the job.
Seth’s documentaries last year led to massive changes.
He entered six highly competitive stories - Silent Killer, which was on hypertension; Pain from Cursed Cells, which was on sickle cell; Bloody Land, which was on communal violence at Nakpanduri; I fall, I shake, I die, on epilepsy; Borrowed Manhood, on circumcision gone bad and Buyin Life which was on childhood cancer - for the awards.
Multimedia walked away with an impressive plunder of the awards. Joy FM's Kwetey Nartey bagged two. Joseph Gakpo's story on poverty alleviation won him an award. Joy Sports' Benedict Owusu and Myjoyonline.com's photojournalist David Andoh won their categories.
