The Ghana Football Association is considering an invitation to play Turkey in an international friendly next month in Istanbul.
The European country adds to the growing number of international sides seeking to play the Black Stars on the 3 March, a Fifa date for international friendlies.
Already South American sides Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina are reported to be keen on playing Ghana on the same date in preparation for the 2010 World Cup.
Some Asian countries and African national teams have also expressed their desire to play the Black Stars on that Fifa date for international friendlies.
Ghana are also keen on using the date for their warm-up towards the tournament in South Africa after excelling at the Africa Cup of Nations.
But because of the several offers on the table to play the Black Stars, Ghana FA chiefs are still deliberating the issues with Turkey as the latest country to express interest.
“We are still considering our opponents for the international friendly date on 3 March that is because Turkey have just written to play us,” a top Ghana FA official told Ghanasoccernet on condition of anonymity.
“There are several other countries who are keen but we need to look at them carefully taking into consideration the opponents we will face at the World Cup.”
Ghana have been placed in the same group as Germany, Australia and Serbia.
