A former Director of the Ghana Law School (GLS), Dr. Ansah Asare has urged ace Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to take his investigative lens to the Supreme Court of Ghana to expose corrupt judges at the highest court of the land.

According to him, the entire judiciary is corrupt.

Dr. Ansah Asare was speaking Wednesday on Adom FM’s “Burning Issues” Programme hosted by Afia Pokua.

Dr. Ansah-Asare says he is surprised that Anas only got 34 judges in his exposé since there are more corrupt judges, even at the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

 “I’m very disappointed about the scandal that has rocked the judiciary”, he said.

Dr. Ansah Asare also expressed worry about law education in the country.

 According to him leadership of the Ghana Law School are not improving law education. He observed that very little has been done to improve existing law schools in the country.

An audio-visual recording by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, allegedly captures 34 judges taking bribes to give favourable judgements on cases before them.

A planned public screening of a documentary on the scandal has created a lot of controversy. While some are pushing for the documentary to aired, others, including some of the indicted judges are against its broadcast.

Justice Paul Dery, one of the accused judges has sued Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the Judicial Council over the exposé.

He has filed a suit to stop the premiering of the video at the Accra International Conference Centre on September 22 and 23.

The suit is also against the Director of Estates and General Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Manager of the Accra International Conference Centre and the Attorney General.

According to the embattled judge he would suffer prejudice and irreparable damage if the respondents are not restrained.
