The National Youth Employment Program’s employees in the Upper East Region whose appointments have been terminated are demanding their three months salary arrears.
The group complain that since they lost their jobs last year the programme has not shown commitment to the payments.
Group spokesperson, Seidu Mohammed Awal, claims that although the national coordinator Abuga Pele promised to look into their concerns, their demands have not been met.
“We have not forgotten our arrears [for last] November and December...We have the right to also demand our arrears. So there is absolute silence on that,” he lamented.
According to him, an earlier letter Mr Pele sent them suggested the coordinator was ready to engage them in talks on the matter.
“What we want them to do is that they should be courageous enough to give us our money,” he indicated.
