Modern Auto Services Limited (MAS) has handed over a brand new Foton pickup to the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to facilitate its administrative operations.
The donation was also aimed at strengthening the existing cooperation between the company and the educational segment of the foundation.
Currently some selected beneficiaries of the foundation are undergoing skill training at MAS in auto engineering and supply chain management.
Top delegation from MAS led by the General Manager of the auto company, Mr. Amine Kabbara, were present at the Manhyia Palace last Sunday during the Akwasidae festival celebration to pay homage to the Ashanti King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu and also to hand over the pickup.
Her Royal Highness, Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene received the vehicle on behalf of the foundation.
Briefing the media on the visit, Mr. Kabbara noted that the donation was in fulfillment of the company’s pledge to support the Otumfuo Charity Foundation’s activities in providing skill training programmes for the youth in the Ashanti Region.
He said the company believes education is the key to development of every nation.
“Such decision formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility targeted at supporting the needy especially the youth to acquire requisite skills to gain gainful employment” he said.
Lady Julia Osei Tutu thanked MAS for the support and called on corporate bodies to emulate MAS to ensure education is supported to safeguard the future of the youth.
