Mr Patrick Timbilla, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander has said the Obuasi Police would not relent on their effort to deal with criminals in the region. At the first Obuasi Divisional Police Command Wassa held at the Anglogold Ashanti Club House at Wasase-Obuasi, Mr Timbilla stressed "let us remain focused so that we can serve the public better".
He noted that government and the Police Administration were appreciative of the work the police were doing and that there was nothing to distract their commitments to the security of the region.
Mr Timbilla said policing was a shared responsibility and not the work of the security services alone and therefore stressed "we need to put our hands on deck to check anything that affect the security of the region".
The Obuasi Divisional Police Command, Mr Emmanuel Amisah, said the Division had made modest achievement in their Policing leading to reduction in crime waves in the area.
He commended the Municipal and District Assemblies in the Division for being supportive to the police especially in the areas of infrastructure and logistics supply.
"Adansi South District Assembly has completed a police station at Akrofoum awaiting commissioning while a district police headquarters is under construction at new Edubaise," he said.
Mr Amisah announced that there was a facility to accommodate twenty more personnel and therefore appealed to the regional police command to post policemen and policewomen to augment strength in the area.
Mr John Alexander Ackon, the Municipal Chief Executive complained about the delay of the programme for an hour.Source: GNA
