A heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds this afternoon, caused a metal telecomunication mast to collapse on two vehicles at the Aviance Cargo Village car park near the Kotoka International Airport in Accra. The collapsed mast, owned by the Ghana Community Network System (GCNET), did not disrupt business at Aviance, as a back-up system was readily put in place. The vehicles which got damaged belonged to Customs Excise and Preventive Service officers. They were a Chrysler van with registration number GW 2522R and a Mercedes Benz saloon car with registration GR 780X. The case is being handled by the police while the officers are in talks with GCNET to have their vehicles fixed.Source: GNA
