The Ada College of Education (ADACOE), at the weekend conferred diplomas on 710 graduates during the third congregation of the academic facility at Ada Foah in the Greater Accra Region.
The graduates were made up of 193 regular students while 517 of them patronised the school's sandwich programme.
Graduates for the regular intake comprised 22 Second Class Honours with Upper Division; 82 Second Class Honours with Lower Division, 80 Third Class and Nine passes.
Eighty-four Sandwich Students obtained Second Class Honours with Upper Division; 245 had Second Class Honours with Lower Division; 164 Third Class and 24 passes.
Mr Nicholas Kutor, Examinations Co-ordinator of Training Colleges, conferred the diplomas on the graduates.
The Congregation, which was attended by parents, family members, friends, and well-wishers of the graduates, had: "Quality Teacher Education: The Bedrock for Human Resource Development In The 21st Century" as its theme.
ADACOE, which was first to be established as Ada Training College in 1965 was one of the many colleges founded by the First President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
It started as a four-year post-middle teacher training college and in 1974 admitted students for secondary/vocational courses in place of teacher trainees.
As part of the programme to convert all teacher training colleges into post-secondary institutions, ADACOE, in 1988 admitted its first batch of post-secondary students.
It continued to run the post-middle course alongside the new course until the post-middle phased out in 1984.
ADACOE is one of the two colleges in the Greater Accra Region that has been upgraded to a tertiary institution.
