The Enquirer has over the past few weeks have been publishing its investigations into the sale of the assets of the liquidated Ghana Airways.
In the course of our investigations we found out from official documentation from the liquidators of Ghana Airways, that two properties comprising, two huge Ghana Airways blocks of flats at the plush Airport Residential Area, valued at US$1,700,000.00 stood in the name of Justice H. Abban as the purchaser.
Based on the official documents, the Enquirer published a story in its Friday 4th - 6th June 20 10 edition titled "BEAUTY QUEEN GRABS 24 BN GHANA AIRWAYS BUNGALOWS", which erroneously linked Mrs. Justice Henrietta Abban to the purchase of the two properties.
Since publishing the story, we have received a statement from Mrs. Justice H. Abban, (which we have confirmed), to the effect that the Justice H. Abban mentioned in the official documents relating to the liquidation of Ghana Airways was in fact NOT Mrs. Just.ice Henrietta Abban who we referred to in our publication. It was a case of mistaken identity.
In view of that, and in all fairness to Mrs. Justice Henrietta Abban, the Enquirer and its Editor-in-Chief hereby retract the story contained in its publication of 4th-6th June, 2010 publication captioned "BEAUTY QUEEN GRABS 24 BN GHANA AIRWAYS BUNGALOWS".
We also unreservedly apologize to Mrs. Justice Henrietta Abban for the harm our publication may have done to her and her reputation, and promise not to publish the same or similar article concerning her.
The Enquirer will however continue with its investigations to ascertain the true identity of the said Mrs. Justice H. Abban mentioned in official documents of the liquidator.
