A portion of the road network between Accra and the western parts of Ghana has been cut following heavy rains.
The rains Sunday night has rendered the road on motorable, Joy News reporter Ebenezer Opoku confirmed.
The Gomoa portion of the road is said to be worse affected.
According to Ebenezer Opoku, traders plying the route have been left stranded as motorists have been told not to attempt the journey.
Meanwhile officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) are continuing with relief operations for those affected by flooding in different parts of the country.
The heavy downpour Sunday caused havoc in several areas, claiming eleven lives in Accra alone.
NADMO officials worked throughout the night with the support of the Ghana Navy to evacuate about three thousand people whose houses were submerged by floods in Tema.
The DCE of Gomoa East, Isaac Kingsley Nuamah told Joy News some of the villages and bridges have been completely submerged in the water.
Vehicles plying the route have also been diverted, he said.
