The Ghana Football Association is optimistic it can reach a deal with sought-after Milovan Rajevac whose contract expires next month as Black Stars coach.
Qatari-based club Al Sadd is reported to have made a bumper offer for the Serb who has been head of Ghana’s technical team since August 2008.
Rajevac has been coy on his future although his tenure has been successful. The Ghana FA seems to have dropped hints of holding onto the coach.
“We will be meeting with the coach and other stakeholders next week when we get to Accra to review the World Cup and specifically look at the work of the coach and then discuss issues about the possibility of a renewal or extension of his stay, Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi told the Daily Graphic in South Africa.
“You must note that any decision to stay will be mutual; if we want him to stay and he declines or vice-versa, there’ll be a deadlock. But I am very optimistic we will be able to reach an amicable decision that will be mutually beneficial to both parties.”
Milo, as he is affectionately called, guided to finish second at the 2009 CHAN tournament in Ivory Coast and was a bridesmaid at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
