Reigning GHALCA Top Four Champions, Heart of Lions have set a target of retaining the title after securing the top spot at the end of the first round.
The Kpando based club handed out a 3-1 defeat to defending Premier League champions Aduana Stars at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday.
In-form Gabriel Fiamenyo put up an impressive showing as he scored a brace for the Kpando based club.
Samuel Asiedu pulled one back for Aduana but it wasn’t enough to earn them the maximum points as Sena Kofi Fiabu netted to wrap up victory for Heart of Lions.
The result leaves Aduana Stars languishing at the bottom of the table with a point.
Team manager of Heart of Lions, Yashin Laryea has told Joy Sports he is hopeful his side would maintain its current form.
“To win the top 4 and defend it successfully is what we want to achieve this season,” he said.
He also explained that the club failed to live up to expectation in last season’s Glo league due to fatigue, adding that the team has learnt it lessons and will not repeat the same mistakes the coming season.
