SW1 launches new Album

Last Week a reggae group, SW1 launched its album Glory Be at the Rex Cinema Hall near old Parliament House. Ras Appiah Jew, a reggae musician who launching the album, traced the beginning of two friends whose togetherness at St. Augustine’s College as students in Cape Coast later bore fruits came together to form a band whose name is derived from the names of friends, Sabato and Wofa are one, hence the name SW1. The first auction had 500,000 cedis for the CD. The group tossed a reggae tune and the audience could not resist and so got itchy and joined in response to the song in a chorus “If Jah is for us who can be against us”, one of the good tracks on their maiden album “Glory Be.” Next on the stage to play was the Black Prophet
