Regent of the Great Dagbon Kingdom and the acting president of the Dagbon Traditional Council, Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai, has sent a congratulatory message to newly appointed Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Nashiru Issahaku.
Kampakuya-Na's message conveyed the joy and excitement of the chiefs and people of the Dagbon Traditional Council as an indigene of Dagbon take the reigns at the Bank of Ghana.
Yakubu Abdulai lauded the new Governor's "academic capabilities, hard work, commitment to duty, desire to serve your country and your track record in working with the World Bank and African Development Bank."
The Kampakuya-Na prayed for God to guide Nashiru Issahaku as he takes charges of the Central Bank.

PRESS STATEMENT CONGRATULATING DR ABDUL NASHIRU ISSAHAKU ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS THE GOVERNOR OF THE BANK OF GHANA
As the Regent of the Great Dagbon Kingdom and the Acting President of the Dagbon Traditional Council, on my own behalf and on behalf of the chiefs, elders and citizens of Dagbon, I wish to congratulate Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku on his appointment as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
The news of your appointment as Governor of the Bank of Ghana has been received with much joy, excitement and approval by the chiefs and people of the Dagbon Traditional Council.
As a son of Dagbon, you have made us proud. I know that your appointment is the result of your intellectual capabilities, hard work, commitment to duty, desire to serve your country and your track record in working with the World Bank and African Development Bank.
Undoubtedly, I know you are capable of excelling in this new position despite the numerous challenges confronting the economy of our country. I wish to admonish you to remain diligent, honest and firm in the performance of your duties as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana. It is my believe that Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku will live up to the trust imposed on him by discharging his duties creditably well.
I am calling on the youth of Dagbon to emulate the good works and exemplary leadership qualities of Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku and excel in their various endeavours so as to bring honour and glory to Dagbon and Ghana.
May Almighty Allah guide, inspire and protect Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku throughout his work as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
