Former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah, has advised Ghanaian side Medeama to throw caution to the wind when they play Sudanese side Al-Ahly Shendi in the first leg of the second round CAF Confederations Cup qualifier.
Appiah, who currently manages Al-Khartoum in Sudan, was optimistic of Medeama’s chances provided the team had a good balance in both attack and defence.
On the Sudanese, Appiah stated they are strong offensively but could have lapses in defence which Medeama could capitalize.
“Shendi’s got a good team. They are not bad just that their defence is not that strong, but attacking wise, they could be dangerous,” he told Joy Sports.
“Medeama has got a good team. The most important thing is to go all out and not concentrate solely on the defending because they are away.”
“It all depends on the coach and his tactics.”
Kwesi Appiah’s Al Khartoum were bundled out of the tournament in the preliminary round.
