Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has refuted claims he is at loggerheads with the Ghana Football Association.
Reports in some section of the media have claimed there is a thorny relationship between the Minister and Football with Vanderpuye going as far as making FA officials pay gate fees during Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Mozambique.
But in an interview on Lexis Bills’ Personality Profile, the minister rubbished all claims of a rift between him and the FA.
“The people in the GFA are not my enemies, they are not my opponents they are my brothers in the same line of duty,” Vanderpuye said.
“We are all supposed to work together in order to achieve something good for this country and I am ready to cooperate with them.”
“The thing about me is that what is wrong is wrong. I have so many things that are wrong.”
On his task as Sports Minister, Vanderpuye stated his sole aim was to right the wrongs have been occurring in football administration in the country.
“I have been in football and sports management for long to see things that wrong.”
“From sitting back and analyzing the situation over the period, it is now an opportunity for me as a Ghanaian to say this nonsense must stop.”
