The Akim Swedru Circuit Court has remanded Kwadwo Akpakah and John Kwadwo, both farmers, in prison custody for stealing a goat valued at GH¢100.00, a property of Nana Kwasi Nkrumah who is a fetish priest. The accused persons pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and stealing. They would reappear on August 27.
One accomplice, Kwabee, is on the run.Police Inspector Charles Quaye told the court, presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah, that Nana Nkrumah lives at Adenkyensu with the accused persons. He said about a month ago, Mr Yaw Okye, who is a brother of Nana Nkrumah, detected the theft of the billy goat and all efforts made to find the goat proved futile. It was later detected that the two accused persons and Kwabee, who is at large, stole the goat.Investigations revealed that in the course of the theft, Akpakah hit the head of the goat before it died; adding that Kwadwo and the accomplice kept it in a sack and later roasted it before sharing it.Inspector Quaye said the case was reported to the Police and Akpakah and Kwadwo were arrested while Kwabee managed to escape.Source: GNA
