Thousands of first time voters have thronged various registration centres across the country to register as Limited Voter Registration exercise ends today.
The 11-day exercise by the Electoral commission began on April 28, 2016, to give people who have turned 18 after the last registration the opportunity to register and participate in the general election.
The Commission hopes to register about 1.2 million people in the exercise.
The exercise has been marred with some incidents of violence most of which had to do with the eligibility of some registrants being challenged by the two major political parties, NDC and NPP.
In the first phase of the exercise the date 27/04/2016 instead of 28/04/2016, which is the first day of registration, appeared on some of the voter ID cards issued to applicants at some two centres.
But the Commission said the irregularities were due to operators' errors and were rectified as soon as they were detected.
The Commission had to create new centres at places such as the University of Ghana campus and other campuses due to the large number of first-time registrants there.
At the registration centres at the University of Cape Coast Campus on Sunday, Joy News' Richard Kojo Nyarko reported that EC officials have brought in extra registration kits in anticipation of more registrants after church.
Also, in the southern part of the Volta region, Joy News' Ivy Setordjie reported that there have been pressure on some centres as students from various senior high schools and polytechnics arrived to register.
"Some of the senior high school students are however still at some centres as they are unable to get guarantors," Ivy reported.
The EC will review the program before a decision can be made whether or not to extend the exercise.
