Four computers used by the Electoral Commission (EC) for the Limited Biometric Voter Registration exercise have been stolen at Savelugu in the Northern region.
The office of the Commission was broken into through the window Sunday night.
"The locks were still on as if nothing had happened" when electoral officers went to the office, Joy News Northern regional correspondent Matina Bugri reported.

A technician with the EC, Moses Tibillah confirmed that the wire mesh and three louvre blades in the window behind the office had been removed.

He explained that the computers and biometric verification devices containing data gathered on the last day of the registration exercise on Sunday were all missing.
He explained that they had come to the office to export the data gathered to the national headquarters of the EC in Accra.
The EC technician said despite the theft, the biometric data was backed up on USB sticks.
They need a BMS device to export the biometric data.
