The Greenstreet campaign tour which is dubbed “Apam Foforↄ” (new covenant) also translated in Mampruli as “Alkawule-pale” reached the Mamprusi territory amidst chanting and drumming.
The CPP presidential candidate has been preaching hope and inspiration to the unemployed youth and residents in constituencies like Yagaba Kubori, Yunyoo, Nalerigu and Walewale.
At Yunyoo, the Flagbearer paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Yunyoo – Nayiri Toka Yamyia Yunyoo Rana II where he introduced the Party’s candidate for the November 2016 parliamentary elections in the constituency Ms Nafisa Dawuda.
Yunyoo is close to the Republic of Togo and has two main ethnic groups - Kokombas and the Bimobas. The area lacks developmental projects such as portable water, senior high school, hospital, tarred roads and irrigation systems for the local small holder farmers.
The Flagbearer, who was accompanied by the Third National Vice Chairman – Alhaji Tijani Rahman and the Northern Regional executives, next visited Nalerigu and held a mini rally at which the Party’s parliamentary candidate Alhassan Ziblim was introduced. Earlier, he paid a courtesy call on the Mamprusi King – Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami at his palace.
It was night at Walewale lorry station when the CPP Presidential candidate met a large group of supporters and outdoored the Party’s parliamentary candidate, Ms Sabratu Mahama.
She said development in the area was poor despite having had representatives from both the NDC and NPP in the recent past.
In her view, their past failures meant that neither Party should be an option for Walewale and that with her career as an educationist she believed she had new opportunities to offer the women and youth without always relying on Government.
