Mr Eric Appoh, Agona West Constituency Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stressed the determination of the party to capture the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2008 elections.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru on Sunday, Mr Appoh said the NDC would be vigilant in the elections to avoid rigging.
He said the party would capitalise on the internal wrangling within the Agona West NPP to take the seat since the NDC had been restructured from the grassroots.
Mr Appoh stated that the NPP was confused and had nothing to offer Ghanaians who would reject the party massively to ensure an NDC victory.
The Youth Organizer called on the rank and file of the NDC to bury their differences and to remain united to snatch power from the government.
He commended the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party for organising a peaceful and successful national congress at the University of Ghana, Legon to elect a flag bearer for the election.
Mr Appoh said the constituency as well as the regional executives were happy with the internal democracy within the NDC to chalk resounding victory.
He appealed to the aspirants who lost to Professor John Evans Atta Mills to rally behind him to emerge victorious.
Mr Appoh urged the supporters of the party to intensify their campaign and win more members and said the NDC had good policies and programmes for the people of this country.
He said a comprehensive economic policy to reduce poverty would be outlined if Ghanaians gave the party the mandate to rule.
