Ghana will not name a national team boss until at least December this year, KickOffGhana.com has learnt.
The Black Stars have been without a substantive coach since Milovan Rajevac walked out on them after the 2010 World Cup.
But the Ghana Football Association is taking all the time in the world and say a choice about his replacement will not be made until 'the tail end of this year or early next year'.
GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe told KickOffGhana.com there was "no point in rushing into an appointment now and paying the coach when the next competitive game will not happen till March 2011".
That game will be away to Congo in the Nations Cup qualifier and Pappoe reckons if the new man is in place early next year he will have a good deal of time to get the side ready for the game.
Over 100 coaches including former France captain Marcel Desailly are in the running for the job.
