Another major tournament, another Portugal misfire; they took the lead against Iceland, looked comfortable, were just starting to swagger, and then conceding an eminently avoidable goal to draw 1-1.
The two teams sit on one point, ahead of Austria but below Hungary; Portugal will be worrying, Iceland will be dreaming.
The first chance of the game fell to Iceland's Gylfi Sigurdsson, who absolutely pasted Vieirinha on the inside before opening his body to feint a shot towards the far post; Rui Patricio saved well at the near.

And he must have been ruing his decision-making on 31 minutes, when Portugal went ahead; excellent work from the excellent Andre Gomes presented Nani with a chance that he took very well; surely they would add to that advantage in the second half?
Surely not! Iceland hung in there, then pounced when the opportunity presented itself - Birkir Bjarnason might have benefitted from Vieirinha's error, but he took his chance superbly well.
Thereafter, Iceland came as close to winning as losing. Group F is poised.
