The outgoing president of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs has reiterated his stance on the need for Ghanaians to give President John Mahama a second term.
Naa Dr Charles Puo-Uree Chiiri stated that in advanced democracies when a government is seen to be doing well it is retained by the people.
He made the statement when the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah paid a courtesy call on members of the Nandom traditional council at Nandom.
"If something does good, more of that thing must be retained to do better and I don't see why we should he doubting,’’ he said.

This is the second time the Naa Dr Puo-Uree Chiiri has made the appeal. The first was in July when President John Mahama visited the Region during his accounting to the people tour.
He conceded that the traditional area has some challenges relating to their road network and is of the opinion that if the president is given another term he will work on them.
Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah thanked the chiefs for the confidence reposed in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and promised they will not let them down.

He said the NDC party launched its manifesto last Saturday and as a mark of respect, he has been sent by the president to inform them about some of the items contained in it.
Mr Debrah said as a son of an agriculturist, what interests him most is the green revolution which the party will introduce to revamp the agriculture sector.
He said the focal point will be the setting up of Agric mechanization centers to give farmers easy access to tractors and other farm subsidies.

The Chief of Staff later paid a courtesy call on the paramount chief of Lawra, Naa Puowelle Karbo.
Naa Karbo who is also the father of the Deputy Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, assured the Chief of Staff that he will give equal opportunities to all political parties.
He added that as chiefs they are to represent the people and allow them to make their own choice. He urged the people especially the youth to desist from drawing chiefs unnecessarily into their political discourse.
‘‘It is common here, some of them will say this man is from the chief’s house and the chief is this or that. When you start that way, that is where the trouble will start.

"But if you go and sell your message, tell your people why they should vote for this political party as opposed to this political party. Tell them why they should vote this candidate as against this candidate and the people will make the choice,’’ Naa Puowelle Karbo advised.
Mr Debrah assured the Lawra Paramount Chief that even though they have finished the major road from Wa to Babile and Lawra, they will not rest on their oars as they will ensure that the district gets its fair share of the national cake.
