Africa football legend Kalusha Bwyala who heads the Zambia Football Federation has told Joy Sports there must be a new ways administering football on the African Continent.
The ex-Zambia Star who was in Accra for Ghana’s launch of the FIFA goal III project, said CAF boss Issa Hayatu and his executives have lost the trust of the African people and must therefore pave the way for new, energetic and young administrators to take over the running of the sport.
Bwayla believes if GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi wins the CAF executive Committee position in Sudan next month, it will pave the way for a new era in African football administration.
He said Africa was a sleeping giant in terms of football and emphasized the need for managers of the game to wake up.
According to him, areas such as refereeing, sponsorship amongst others, ought to be looked at critically.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Nyatakyi’s candidacy for the CAF executive Committee position has received a major endorsement.
Vice President, John Dramani Mahama who was at the launch yesterday also reiterated the government of Ghana’s backing for Kwesi Nyantakyi’s candidacy.
