Ex-Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Affum has told Joy Sports Ghanaian players in Egypt are safe despite widespread political tension in the North African Country.
Egyptians have taken to the streets in the past week protesting against President Hosni Mubarak's government and forcing the football federation of Egypt to suspend its leagues.
At least five Ghanaians play in the Egyptian top flight league including Samuel Affum who says there is no need to panic.
He told Joy Sports he is staying at home and hoping the protests will be over in days.
A U.S. vs. Egypt in Cairo friendly planned for February 9 has thus been canceled.
