The Elmina fishermen who used their demonstration over fishing restrictions to disrupt traffic in the Central region have apologized for their actions.
The fishermen were on the streets to demand the immediate lifting of the ban on the use of light for fishing. The police arrested six of them.
Chief fisherman for Elmina, Agya Akonu told Joy News though they regret the turn of events, government would have to look into their demands.
He said the ban was negatively affecting their trade.
But Deputy Agric Minister Nii Amassa Naamoale says government cannot grant their wish.
He said the use of light had been banned in every part of the world and Ghana could not be an exception.
