The Member of Parliament for the Twifo Heman-Lower Denkyira, Reverend Benjamin Donkor, has presented sports equipment worth ¢45 million to the Jukwa Secondary and Twifo-Heman Secondary-Technical schools at separate ceremonies at Jukwa.
Jukwa Secondary School was presented with two sets of jerseys, 12 pairs of football boots and two footballs while Heman Secondary-Technical also had two sets of jerseys and two footballs.
Methodist JSS which came first in the Basic Schools soccer competition was presented with one million cedis and two footballs, while the runners up, Model JSS had ¢500,000 and two footballs.
Rev. Donkor also made a donation of a set of jerseys each to the Jukwa and Heman townships while another set of jerseys was presented to the Wawase Ladies Club.
The MP at a short presentation to Jukwa Secondary School commended the school for emerging as the Central Regional soccer champions and exhorted the students to take their studies seriously.
Ms Regina Amam, headmistress of the School thanked Rev Donkor for his gesture and appealed for provision of a playing field for the school since the students have to travel about three miles from their campus for training sessions.
