Ghana is already nursing high hopes ahead of the next World Cup after reaching the quarter finals of South Africa 2010.
The performance of the Black Stars was celebrated widely the world over.
But the fact that it was the only African country to go past the group stage despite the continent presenting its highest number of teams ever, (six), means Africa could return to presenting five teams.
FIFA’s executive committee will take a decision on that later today in Zurich.
Ex-Ghana Captain C.K. Akunor does not expect FIFA to reduce the slots for Africa.
He said the argument that Africa could lose a slot or two because of the poor showing in the last World Cup are unsustainable.
In his view Africa was supplying the world with great players and that should be enough testimony that the game is growing on the continent.
